Excellent location - right near good shopping and great restaurants. Room was of a nice size VERY clean; staff was extremely accommodating, and the breakfast buffet that entails an array of coffees, two kinds of juice, watwr, two types of teas and very good quality bagels, muffins, cereals and oatmeal is an excellent, and high quality, great value addition.

We had a great experience staying for 2 nights at the Montreal Econo Lodge in a room on the first floor. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place to spend a few nights in Montreal, this is a great option. I think a lot of these critical reviews are incredibly harsh. Remember folks, you’re not paying for a Four Seasons experience, this is well below the average hotel cost in Montreal, yet this hotel did the job perfectly well. The staff: The best part of my experience was how polite and helpful the staff were. This says a lot about an establishment, and they blew it out of the park. A super kind man at the front desk gave us recommendations about what to do in the city and seemed super invested in us having the best experience possible. Other employees helped us with our key cards when they broke, kept the breakfast tables clean and stocked and even helped us get into our room at 2:00am when our friend had fallen asleep with the door locked. The rooms: For the price, I was very happy. Very clean and our double queen bedroom was large. Everything you would expect was stocked in the room and bathroom. Room service made our beds and re-stocked cups in our room while we were gone! Beds were actually very comfortable. No weird smells or gross areas anywhere in our room. Also, the blackout shades made it feel like midnight even in the morning which was nice. Our shower head was broken and felt like a pressure washer but still did the trick. The breakfast: I don’t know why people in these reviews were expecting a 5-course meal, here’s what you’re getting: They offered oatmeal, yogurt, cheese sticks, cereal, bagels, toast and a coffee machine (maybe more options earlier in the morning too) which was all great! This was perfectly fine for us. Location: The actual area where the hotel is located does feel a little sketchy at first glance. Personally, we didn’t see anything worrying but if you’re a solo traveler that will be out and about outside the hotel a lot at night or have kids that are wanting to explore the area maybe look somewhere else. Don’t judge a book by its cover though, the run-down looking building across the street had a very nice parking garage underneath that we used but do note it was about $14 a day.

Econo Lounge was clean and comfortable. The staff during the day were polite and welcoming, and check in was smooth. The hotel itself is a bit older, but well maintained. There’s a great espresso machine in the lobby, and they also offer toast and a cold breakfast if you’re interested. Our room was clean, and I found the price cheaper when booking directly. The location is excellent right downtown and close to everything.

I really like this hotel and it’s a great value. It is not fancy at all, and it has just the basics, though I think it does the basics right. The bed was great, clean, and comfortable. The room overall was also clean as well. Staff were quite nice and friendly as well, from check-in to the ones tending the continental breakfast to the cleaners. Minor caveats is that the hotel is in a sketchy area, and the view is not that great, showing a rundown building. But the location of the hotel regardless is quite great as it is close to the Berri-UQAM station. The continental breakfast is serviceable. It is in a small room however, though you can bring stuff to your room. The coffee machine is a highlight. It’s slow, but it makes some delicious coffee.

We had a great stay! The location was perfect, just a 1 minute walk to the metro, which made getting around very convenient. The service was excellent and the staff were very welcoming. Our room was tidy and clean, which we really appreciated. One thing to note: the room doesn’t have air conditioning. We stayed in May, so the weather was still cool and it didn’t affect us, but it’s something to keep in mind for warmer months. A nice bonus was the 24 hour coffee available in the lobby and it was surprisingly good!

Got there in middle of night. Lobby had a hint of sketch at that time, but room was very nice and quiet and small breakfast (cereal, yogurt, coffee) was a nice surprise.

Our room had no air conditioning and was stuffy at times. There was a fan placed in the room but it was a bit loud. The rooms size is okay but I recommend to put a smaller chair as the chair was barely movable. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t try the breakfast but we had their complimentary tea and hot chocolate daily. The location is close to the subway but the neighborhood didn’t feel so safe. There was a homeless person right at the door when we were checking in. I felt a bit uneasy when our neighbor, who seemed intoxicated, offered to help me open my room. I politely declined and locked the door when I am inside my room. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place that is reasonably price and within close proximity of the attractions in old Montreal.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and were very pleased with our choice. The location is excellent, the room and common areas (corridors and dining room) were spotlessly clean, and the dining area was convenient with 24/7 access to a coffee machine. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable, and the room was well equipped with towels and toiletries. A special thanks goes to Kristina and Houssam at the reception desk for their kind assistance and for allowing us to store our luggage after checkout for a few hours. Their professionalism and hospitality made our stay even more pleasant. All of you are greatly appreciated!!!
